How to Remove Glitter

There are several ways to remove glitter, and the best method depends on the type of glitter you're wearing and what works best for you. Feel free to mix and match these methods as needed.

Helpful Tools

• Micellar water

• Cotton pads

• Clean mascara wand

• Gentle tape, preferably medical tape

• Lint roller

• Water for biodegradable glitter

Cosmetic Glitter

Micellar Water

Soak a cotton pad with micellar water and gently press it onto the glitter for a few seconds before wiping away. Replace the cotton pad as it becomes covered in glitter to avoid spreading it around.

Medical Tape

Gently press a piece of tape onto the glitter and lift it away. This works especially well for removing leftover glitter or larger pieces without rubbing the skin.

Spoolie or Mascara Wand

A clean spoolie is great for brushing away glitter caught around lashes, brows, or other small areas.

Lint Roller

A lint roller is a quick and easy way to pick up loose glitter from your skin, clothing, or workspace.

Biodegradable Glitter

If you're wearing biodegradable glitter, simply rinse it away with water using your hands. Avoid using a washcloth, as it can catch glitter and make cleanup more difficult.

If you used a primer or adhesive underneath loose biodegradable glitter, remove the base first with micellar water.

Any remaining glitter can be removed using a spoolie, medical tape, a lint roller, or your regular facial cleanser.

Skip the Makeup Wipes

We do not recommend using makeup wipes. They often spread glitter around instead of lifting it away, making cleanup more difficult.

Extra Tips

• Use whichever removal method works best for your glitter look. Many people combine two or more methods for the easiest cleanup.

• Avoid rubbing your skin, especially around the eyes.

• Biodegradable glitter can safely be rinsed down the drain.

Happy Sparkling! ✨
