Q: ARE YOUR PRODUCTS SAFE?
A: Yes! All products have a list of ingredients used in case you're curious.
All glitters are safe for your face, eyes, hair, and body. All ingredients used are vegan and cruelty-free! Our ingredients don't contain any GMO’s or parabens.
Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or are under treatment/medication for any skin or hair conditions, please consult with your healthcare professional before using any of our products. To check for skin sensitivity, do a small patch test on your inner elbow. Do not apply on broken skin. Use caution when using our products around your eyes and avoid direct eye contact.
Q: IS YOUR GLITTER BIODEGRADABLE?
A: Slayfire offers high quality cosmetic grade glitters that are eye and skin safe.
As of 6/3/21 we have cut all ties with one of our previous manufacturers who greenwashed their customers. We have partnered with a new manufacturer and plan on expanding our line of biodegradable glitter with them this summer!
Cosmetic grade glitters are typically soft to the touch with soft edges. Contrary to what we’re told about glitter, cosmetic grade glitter shouldn’t be anything to fear using. We still want you to sparkle in confidence, so we’ve done some research. Recent studies show that wastewater treatment facilities are not a significant source for microplastic being released into public waterways. The leftover pieces that escape waste management are really really tiny and will still degrade under environmental conditions of heat, water, oxygen, pH and microorganisms (just not as fast as biodegradable plant-based glitter, but also not in 100’s of years like we’re led to believe).

*disclaimer* We have recently discovered as of 4/28/21 that not all the glitter we use are completely biodegradable. Our manufacturer misled us into believing that all the glitters offered were biodegradable. We sincerely apologize for listing incorrect information provided by our manufacturer. Upon learning this information, we’ve done more research on the ecological impacts of cosmetic glitter and have listed some general info above. While we transition from one manufacturer to another, there are still some products in circulation using glitter from the previous manufacturer whom we've cut ties with. We are still committed to creating eco-friendly alternatives to regular glitters and have partnered with a new manufacturer to expand our line of biodegradable glitter coming this summer.
Q: GLITTER GEL APPLICATION/REMOVAL
A: 𝐆𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Use your fingertips to tap the product on wherever you'd like. Fingertips work best but a flat/compact synthetic or silicon brush could also do the job! Gently shape or clean up the area with a spoolie or clean mascara brush. Apply in thin layers, allowing each layer to dry before applying the next. The gel formula dries down completely and stays put all day!
For cosmetic glitter, please remove with a spoolie, tape, lint roller, or wash into a separate bowl that won't be washed down the drain.
Biodegradable glitter can be washed off without any worries! Simply rinse the remaining glitter off with water. You may remove any loose specs with a spoolie, tape, or a lint roller. Avoid using makeup wipes!!! They'll only create more waste and spread the glitter around.
A: Please store your glitter gels in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight. Be sure to keep the cap tightly closed when the product is not in use. Average shelf life is 12 months. Average time until a gel dries out is 6 months. If the product dries out, add a very small amount of our Reviving Potion or aloe vera gel and mix until the desired constancy is met.
